Aditya Srivastava has topped the UPSC Civil Services Examination 2023, securing the All India Rank 1. Hailing from Lucknow, Aditya is an alumnus of IIT Kanpur, where he completed his B.Tech and M.Tech degrees.
The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) announced the final results of the Civil Services Examination 2023 based on the interview scores. Aditya's exceptional performance in the interview round propelled him to the top position, making him the country's civil services topper.
Aditya completed his early schooling in Lucknow, at the CMS Aliganj. He then went on to pursue his engineering degrees at the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur. After that, Aditya worked for 15 months at an American MNC company in Bengaluru.
In 2020, Aditya quit his job to focus on preparing for the UPSC Civil Services Examination.
He relied on self-study, test series, and mock interviews to hone his skills, without seeking any formal coaching. Taking advantage of his technical background, Aditya chose Electrical Engineering as his optional subject.
He thoroughly studied the previous year's question papers to strategize his preparation for both the Prelims and Mains exams.
Aditya had earlier secured the 236th rank in the 2022 UPSC exam, which led to his selection as an IPS officer. Currently, he is undergoing training as an IPS officer in West Bengal. Aditya's father, Ajay Srivastava, works as an AAO in the Central Audit Department, while his younger sister is preparing for the civil services exam in New Delhi. Aditya's mother, Abha Srivastava, is a homemaker.
